Math Link's open-ended activities support NCTM standards. These activities enhance math ideas that receive little emphasis in the average text book. Math ENLACES encourages math as problem solving, reasoning and communication and moves away from drill and practice into thinking mathematically. This program builds an intuitive and lasting understanding of geometry and measurement through a "hands-on", visual approach. For example, students can manipulate the size and shape of geometric figures on-screen, with instant feedback on angle and line segment measures. Furthermore, students explore transformations by flipping, sliding and rotating figures.
