Management Team Dr. Seymour Papert Michael A. Quinn Susan Einhorn Lea Iaricci Mario Bergeron Jessie Fenn Dr. Papert contributes actively to LCSI research and development keeping LCSI abreast of innovations in the fields of education and technology. Dr. Papert is currently LEGO Professor of Learning Research and Director of the Epistemology and Learning Group at M.I.T. In 1993, he was given the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Software Publishers Association. Dr. Papert was the sixth individual to be so honored. He has published several books, including Mindstorms, The Children's Machine, and The Connected Family, all acclaimed discussion of computers, children and learning. Dr. Papert's interest with children grew as a result of his work with Jean Piaget in the late 1950's and early 1960's in Switzerland. In conjunction with being invited on the 1998 Team Canada trade mission to Latin America, Mr. Quinn is spearheading LCSI's push into these rapidly-developing markets. Before joining LCSI, Mr. Quinn served as a Chartered Accountant responsible for international tax planning at Arthur Andersen & Co. Mr. Quinn earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, Montreal.
Ms. Einhorn has worked for LCSI for 16 years. During this time, Ms. Einhorn�s major focus has been the design and development of new products, including the LogoWriter� products, LEGO/Logo, and the MicroWorlds� series of products. She co-authored a number of student and teacher manuals including the LogoWriter student project books, of which close to one million books have been sold to date. Ms. Einhorn has made presentations at numerous educational conferences, including EdMedia 2000, CUEBC, as well as NECC and California CUE. Ms. Einhorn has most recently been directing the design of the newest LCSI product, due to be released in Spring, 2001. For seven years, Ms. Einhorn served as the Director of Marketing at LCSI. While in this position, Ms. Einhorn negotiated major distribution agreements with IBM Latin America and the Ministry of Education of Israel. Ms. Einhorn received a BA degree in psychology from the University of Michigan, attended Concordia University's Master's degree program in Educational Technology in Montreal, Quebec, and studied at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel.
Lea Iaricci, Director of Marketing Ms. Iaricci is the Director of Marketing at LCSI. Since joining LCSI in 1989, Ms. Iaricci has been actively involved in the marketing of LCSI products including MicroWorlds Pro� , MicroWorlds� and the My Make Believe� series. Having written and communication skills in four languages, English, French, Spanish, and Italian, Ms. Iaricci began playing a significant role in marketing the different language versions of LCSI products. In 1998 she participated in the Team Canada Mission to Italy, which resulted in the signing of a contract with an Italian partner for an Italian version of MicroWorlds� . Ms. Iaricci was in charge of the development of LCSI�s corporate web site (www.lcsi.ca), which can be accessed in any one of four languages, English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. Most recently, Ms. Iaricci helped conclude major sales to the city of Bogota, Colombia, and to ILCE, the educational technology group under the auspices of the Ministry of Education of Mexico. Ms. Iaricci received her Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in Montreal.
Mr. Bergeron became Director of Software Development in 1990. Since then he has been actively involved in the development of MicroWorlds 2.0 and MicroWorlds 1.0 as well as Math Links. He was in charge of the creation of Control Lab which was designed for the LEGO group of companies. Recently he worked on the development of a plug-in for Windows and Mac computers which allows students and teachers to load interactive MicroWorlds projects onto the World Wide Web. Presently Mr. Bergeron is developing different language versions of MicroWorlds for countries around the world. Ms. Fenn is the Chief Accountant at LCSI. She is responsible for the smooth functioning of the company on a day to day basis including product production and treasury management. Ms. Fenn has contracted with a company in the United States that will handle all of LCSI's manufacturing, assembly, packaging, warehousing, and shipping of products. This arrangement reduces the time it takes for LCSI to get products to its customers and gives the Company access to the latest manufacturing and printing technologies at the lowest possible costs.
